This film is...a sort of psuedo documentary about Unit 731, hell on earth in WW2. Those japs were extremly cruel. Don't watch this movie unless you have strong nerves. (and it's 4 hours long)

I'll quote (from imdb)
>> Having seen Andrey Iskanov's two earlier works, "Nails" & "Visions of Suffering", I was very much looking forward to his latest. I have seen "Men Behind the Sun" so I know what Unit 731 was about, but "Men Behind the Sun" seems like "The Sound of Music" in comparison to THIS film. <<

Re: Philosophy of a Knife!
Sun, August 17, 2008 - 12:50 PMAll effects are extremly well made in this movie, the soundtrack is just awesome. And remember...it's not for real, it's just a movie, even if it's based on true happenings and events . And perhaps that's what makes this movie so much scarier then all made up movies together. See it if you think that you can handle 4 hours of Unit 731. -

Re: Philosophy of a Knife!
Tue, August 19, 2008 - 10:00 AMYeah... but Men Behind the Sun *was* real to some extent... the rats and cat, the dead boy autopsy...
that is why it was exploitation, awful...... and probably much worse than good effects in a good film.
I dig what you are saying, but in exploitation versus horror.... exploitaiton wins for grotesque, brutal, and cruel hands down. -
