Re: most disturbing movie?
Wed, December 5, 2007 - 1:49 PMI watched 28 Weeks Later recently and found it gave me a very bleak outlook on life for a few days.
the husband abandoning his wife to save himself was painful, but their reunion, reconciliation, and the inevitable outcome was much worse. Totally depressing. Worth watching though. I enjoyed the way the happy ending backfired.
I felt that the movie was a commentary on the instability of the modern family unit and how that instability is destroying modern society, but i could be wrong.

Re: most disturbing movie?
Thu, December 6, 2007 - 11:57 AMSo many movies come to mind, but I think it'd have to be "I Spit on your Grave" for me.
I love how the main character gets revenge (bwahaha!) but all the rape stuff really got to me. -

Tue, December 11, 2007 - 4:45 PMBegotten...don't know if this counts as a horror film, but if ever any film absolutely got under my skin and stayed there, it was THAT film. -

Re: most disturbing movie?
Wed, December 12, 2007 - 11:10 AMStrangeland, for some reason it just really freaked me out. I was disturbed for days after that. I think it was the sewing shut of the mouths and the catheters ewwww.
The Skeleton Key, while not really scary, did leave me feeling trapped and very uncomfortable. The General's Daughter, not horror but still horrible, took me forever to watch, every time the rape scene came up I had to shut it off. I finally skipped that part and finally watched the end and it just pissed me off. -

Wed, December 12, 2007 - 11:55 AMWho's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Hands down. I grew up with drunks. It's horror if you look at it right. -

Re: most disturbing movie?
Wed, December 12, 2007 - 2:23 PMI concur, I am having a shiver, remembering that movie. To some one who hadn't yet experienced that level of drunkeness, it was as if it were a delusional nightmare -

Re: most disturbing movie?
Thu, December 13, 2007 - 5:57 PMI had to think about it for a minute... I decided on "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer". I couldn't remember what it was called though, and had to look it up on IMDB. Funny, but the first review on there mentioned one of my runner-ups: Last House on the Left.

Re: most disturbing movie?
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 11:38 PMjesus camp and who's afraid as mild, but VERY true, jokes... as they are scary in their own right.. we have gone over this 100 times.
Irreversible's fir extinguisher beat down and 9 minute rape scene. I put this at the top because unlike any of the others (less BME), this fucked me up for a couple weeks. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER..... SPOILER. ****************** (knowing the wrong guy was never caught is just devastating and terrifying....)***************************
Salo - whole film
S&Man and August Underground - whole film... Aug Underground is widely considered the worst.
Men Behind the Sun - Japanese Exploitation film about Japanese wartime atrocties with shots of flaming rats and cats, real autopsies, and fucked up army experiments. Also known as Hanger 731 (or something)
Henry Portrait still gets me real bad.
NIN and Trent''s Broken Video.. specifcally "Give Up". It makes the precious Happiness is Slavery with Bob Flanagan look like kid's cartoons.
FOR TRUTHFULLY, real life disturbing.... BME Pain Olympics, and for a funny joke version of disturbing that is distrubing ... 2 girls, 1 cup.
I win. But I lose for having seen this shit.

Re: most disturbing movie?
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 11:41 PMShould I link BME pain olympics?
I mean... are we talking about fictional movie script disturbing, or real life overall disturbing?
Cause BME pain olympics is real, and wins. These people into extreme body mod... are whack.
Anything past scar tattooing I have the immediate propensity to judge. Cutting off healthy body parts is a psychosis, and the fact we can watch it is bizarre. -
