My wife's kids just joined us from Brazil and they had never been to a movie theatre. Being a horror freak I thought it would be nice to instill some fear into the little buggers. The only horror flick in theatres near us was "30 days of night". It was ok, it had all been done before, no surprises, but for them it was HELL! They spent most of the movie with their heads buried in their coats and a look of pure panic on their faces.

In short, they LOVED it. They can't wait to go back to the movies. I do believe I've created little monsters!

So, now I get to rent all the classics. Their mom is pissed :)

      1st film?

Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, or White Zombie. The former is prolly the earliest.

FOR ME? These are the films that slightly effected me, that were horror and important before I knew horror or important.

      Scanners
      Creepshow
      Something Wicked this way Comes
      Watcher in the Woods
      Friday the 13th Part II
      The Day After
My 7th grade Sex ed class that showed herpes pictures
      Poltergeist
Thriller (Yes, Landis got me.. speaking of Landis)
      American Werewold in London
Blue Velvet when he finds the ear
Willy Wonka with the chicken head cut off scene
      The Thing
Amityville Horror (saw way way too young)
Excorcist (saw bits and pieces by accident for years)

And Chiller Theatre on KTVU as a kid.... saw a lot there.

There was some others.. I am sure I will remember. I am always interested in what sparked my fandom.
