Do you have any movies that you HAD TO SEE because of the trailer, but were completely disgusted with yourself for having sat through?

What about movies that you skipped in the theatres because of some crappy trailer, only to be amazed when you finally caught it at a friend's place?

I feel like I only remember the great trailers for movies I loved, but I'm sure that there were some great ones for movies I didn't...I know that I've seen plenty of good horror trailers, but couldn't think of any that were for bad movies.

Re: The Trailer Effect
Tue, November 27, 2007 - 9:48 AMHad to see based on trailer: Signs. Great trailer. Painfully crappy movie
Skipped because of the trailer: Drop Dead Gorgeous. The trailer made it look like it was a bad, formulaic, unfunny, teen comedy. Which is exactly why this underrated gem bombed at the theater. Well, maybe because it was actually well written and funny! My friend made me watch this on dvd, insisting that it was funny as shit. I couldn't agree more. It is one of my most quotable movies ever! -

Tue, November 27, 2007 - 5:46 PMI wanna see "Shining" after watching the redux. Now that would be funny! I love trailers...I used to have around 60 hours or so on videotape. I gave most of them to a guy who was going to transfer them to DVD years ago. Oh well...
