I even like that the pup seems to be with him. In the book when that dog dies I cried out loud.. .sobbing.
I am so excited.

It is not based on the Price film... it is the straight adaptation of Matheson's novel....
the book that started the concept of zombies as we know it today!
I would suggest grabbing a copy of the novel before they come out with the "now a major motion picture" version, where you can never tell if it is the original screenplay or the original novella.
It is one of my all time favourite stories. Yay.

The only thing that gives me hope is this statement from the trivia part of the IMDB for the movie..
"Guillermo del Toro, Will Smith's first choice, turned down the offer to direct this film."
THAT IS WILD THAT WILL WANTED GUILLERMO... simply wild.
They will not be able to replicate the book.. or the irony.. or anything.
Fact is... they made this a Michael Bay type of popcron munching IMAX experience. I remember reading about the dog in the book, and SOBBBBBBBING... becoming totally unhinged.
I am pretty sure in the move ****SPOILERS**** that the dog is turned, and becomes vampire dog.
Piss on that, frankly. I am sure they hollywooded up the ending. There is no way it should be happy, but I know it is..... he lives. -

It is going to be a Michael Bay type film... nothing really human or the depth of horror and sadness. The ending is one of the finest endings in horror literature. In movies, it is tantamount to the last scene in Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland.... that frightening.
But so much is gone... Ben Cortman, FINDING the dog.... etc. This is gonna be way different. BUT..
the new trailer looks incredible. SIMPLE incredible.

hopefully, this will be a pleasant surprise, but that rating revelation really cut down on the appeal for me
not so much that i won't be seeing it in theatres as soon as possible though ;)

Everything about him is arrogant. But what the hell, i will give 28 days later a go!
