Recently there was a posting of a fellow Horror Movies Tribie-mate looking for a Vampire Movie he didn't know the name of....
With a little help from a fellow tribie here, he found what he was looking for, which I thought was very cool and showed what Tribe should always be about!
People interacting and at times helping each other out :)
So, it got me thinking here... (Sometimes that is a dangerous statement....Me...thinking...Ha Ha Ha!!!)
What are your favorite Horror Movies when it comes to....
Vampires?
Werewolves
Zombies
Ghosts
Sci-Fi
or all around just flat out gore? (like the Hostel, Wolf Creek, Hills Have Eyes genre...not sure how you would classify those..)
For me?
Vampires.....modern day? (I can still remember being scared of the old Hammer Horror movies as a little Kid watching them late at night! Ha Ha Ha!!) I would say a few of my favorites are.....
"Lost Boys", "Fright Night" and the re-made version of "Salem's Lot" (it was re-envisoned for a TBS Mini-Series a few years back with Rob Lowe as the main character)
Werewolves?
"American Werewolf in London" and (the Original) "The Howling"
Zombies?
Gotta love the Godfather of Zombie-doms George Romero's original stuff (Night, Dawn and Day), I also LOVE "Return of The Living Dead" and the re-make of Dawn

Re: Your Favorite....
Wed, July 30, 2008 - 9:32 AMi do like the same ones for vampires, except i also like the 'dracula' with frank langella too! i too like 'the howling' and 'american werewolf...' i like the old lon chaney one, though. 'shaun of the dead' has gotta be my favorite zombie movie though! 'serpent and the rainbow' was good too. different kinds of zombies though!
ghosts...there are just too many! i liked the old martin and lewis movie, 'scared stiff' (it had a zombie too!) and sci-fi... there are just TONS of sci-fi that i like! 'blade runner' is maybe my all time favorite, but old school 'war of the worlds' and 'them!' are up there too.' don't much like the gore movies...yuck. -

Re: Your Favorite....
Wed, July 30, 2008 - 10:15 AMGreat Post for me Vampires is the fun one so many types from Blade to 30 days of night or w/e the cool part is each persons unique take on the lore and legend. For me i will always treasure the original Dracula and Bella's preformance. I also really enjoyed Salems Lot for the creepy and really also enjoyed Francis Ford's homage to the Vampire when he redid his version of Dracula too. Werewolf few to me were any good however i did like the Howling as well, and was impressed by the take on them in Van Helsing even tho the movie's end plot tanked what could and should have been a fun monster romp. Zombie yes agreed Romero original and original Dawn of the dead stand alone head and shoulders above all else, however LOVED shaun of the dead too, and also loved the new take on it with the two 28 days films (fast run 50 mils and hour zombies not- withstanding lol) science Fiction well thats a favorite of mine and ill take out the anime influence on some great films and stay on a western theme, and go with Blade Runner, Alien (that is a top 4 monster idea of all time), and another classic Day the Earth stood still, and a favorite of mine Forbidden Planet, Loved Robbie the robot when i was younger. Thanks for the post -
